Based on the idea ‘Be the change you whish to see in the world’, Brendy Boogaard, the initiator of Verh!p, looked into the social and environmental impact of the textile chain. Based on that research she chooses to innovate in three key areas in the chain. Verh!p designs its clothes in dialouge with her customer. By researching the needs of their customer, verh!p knows for sure there is a market for the clothes they design. In production, verh!p only works with materials and producers that are GOTS certified, so they can guarantee sustainability and fair production conditions. And finally, verh!p ensures quality, so that the clothes never have to lead to waste. When the clothing is too small it can be passed on to siblings/friends or be returned, to have a second life. If the clothing is at the end of its life cycle, verh!p even collects and makes available for recycling. The mission and vision of verh!p translates into the concept of ‘pass it on’ which is the core of the brand and the basis of the identity. Pass on experiences, pass on the world, and pass on the clothes. This ties in with the innovations in the chain; passing experiences on to design, passing on a better world by guaranteeing fair and sustainable production; and passing on the clothes to decrease waste. Together with her customers, verh!p provide quality products to bequeath a better world together for next generations.
While having great ambitions, every step very!p takes is carefully taken and well thought off. Verhip does things differently. Instead of being pedantic and behaving as an activist, verh!p is thoughtfull and discreet. The urge comes from within, and is intertwined in the product. Therefore the exclamation mark in the logo is ‘hidden’ in the name, being the ‘i’ upside down. In the whole identity the social and engaged aspect of the brand is leading. Verh!p is able to speak directly to its customers and has a friendly and warm radiation and a personal appeal.
